Abstract

Knowledge construction requires a methodology that allows the student to improve making learning more meaningful by transferring contents in an integrative manner. Integrating thinking tools with content learning across subject matters helps reorganizing knowledge to build on the knowledge previously learned. The use of thinking techniques integrated with the contents promotes the following aspects: the development of different kinds of intelligence, autonomy and personal initiative, learning to learn, cross-disciplinary thinking and flexibility in thinking. This article mostly collects a set of tools applied in Theory of Education and Educational Guidance and Tutorial Action, thus including some projects carried out by the students of these two courses. It is concluded with an evaluation of the contributions by analysing the advantages, difficulties and limitations that the use of thinking techniques entails for teaching the aforementioned courses at university level.
