Abstract

In this article we approach the relevant role that the game plays in the lives of boys and girls, and therefore the importance that it should have as methodological strategy in Early Childhood Education. Using a reflective practice approach we analyse the working processes carried out by the teaching staff in a 0-3 year olds Infant school. We claim the need to reflect upon the own teaching practice as a means for professional improvement, so that teachers may give the best of themselves. The point of departure of our proposal is the concept of child we have in mind, boys and girls, as the keystone upon which leans the educational project. Then we deepen in the role of the educator and the methodological strategies that make the game the source of development and learning at this educational stage.
