Abstract

This paper makes a revision of the numerous versions of The Beauty and the Beast in order to highlight the features of folk tales. Since this is a popular literary genre that plays an essential role in our cultural heritage it should be recovered in the Primary classrooms. A set of teaching proposals is presented as a result of the research on digital and creative writing with folk tales that has been carried out in the Faculty of Education from the Complutense University of Madrid for several years now. One of the implicit purposes of this paper is to increase imagination in students and develop their ability to create.
