Abstract

The current situation that catholic religion teachers must face is not an easy one, since they are surrounded by uncertainties and difficulties burden their profession. although sent by the church community, they frequently don't feel valued enough either by the sender or by the receiver. At the moment we don't know what the future of catholic religion teachers will be, how catholic religion will be taught in schools or even if it will be… in order to get ready for this uncertain future, this paper offers some of the characteristics that any teacher, and particularly catholic religion teachers, should embody. it is claimed the need for a thorough training, thus focusing on "being a catholic religion teacher".
