Abstract

This article claims the need to regulate the long working hours to which university teachers are subjected, particularly during the online teaching or the remote assistance caused by COVID-19. Teaching within the COVID-19 context is analysed, thus highlighting the particular situations that university teachers must face and the need to separate the hours of work and rest. International regulation on rest for both workers and teachers is scrutinised. The article finishes with a brief reflection on the right to get disconnected and effectively separate the working hours from the rest hours, in other words, the right to rest and to care for their personal health.
