Intervención socioeducativa para potenciar el envejecimiento saludable en las personas mayores
Keywords:
social educator, healthy ageing, intergenerational projects, lifelong learningAbstract
This study is conceived as a reflective examination of the central role played by social educators in socio-educational interventions with older adults. The concepts of active ageing and healthy ageing are reviewed in order to identify key professional competencies and to assess the contribution of social educators to improving quality of life in later stages of life. Particular attention is given to two intervention strategies: intergenerational projects and lifelong learning initiatives. Both approaches are analysed in relation to their potential to reduce ageism, physical isolation and unwanted loneliness, while fostering meaningful social relationships among older adults. The study underscores the relevance of Social Education in promoting inclusive, relational and wellbeing-oriented ageing processes.
